Understanding depression
Depression changes how you feel, think, and function. For some it feels like deep sadness; for others it’s flatness, numbness, or exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix. It often affects appetite, concentration, and how you see yourself.
It is also common and highly treatable. A careful evaluation helps us understand your experience so we can build a plan aimed at real, lasting relief.

Her clinical focus is women’s mental health, with particular experience supporting anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, and the stress that comes with big life changes. Her style is approachable and easy to talk to — while staying clear and practical about next steps.

Common questions about depression care
Is online treatment effective for depression?
For many people, yes. Telehealth psychiatric care offers the same evaluation and medication management as in person, with the convenience of home. If in-person care would serve you better, we’ll say so.
Will I need medication?
Not necessarily. Medication is one option among several, and your plan is built with you — it may also include practical strategies and therapy referrals.
Do you accept my insurance?
Johanne is in-network with Optum & UnitedHealthcare (UHC | UBH). If you have a different plan, self-pay is available and we can talk through your options.
How much does a visit cost without insurance?
Self-pay rates are $300 for the initial psychiatric evaluation and $175 for follow-up visits. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
How soon can I be seen?
Submit the form or book online and we’ll reach out to schedule your free consultation, usually within 1–2 business days.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can request an appointment directly.
